The Orphans of War series was born when I learned of the unexpected large number of Amsterdam policemen collaborating with the Nazis.
Through Anne Frank's Diary, the story of the hiding of Jewish citizens is well-known, but little is known about the intricate network of brave souls required to keep these people alive.
In the series, we follow the Brouwer brothers, who find themselves on very different sides during the war.
The story takes readers to all corners of Europe, from the British isles to the gruesome Eastern front. From Amsterdam to Geneva and farther south to the Iberian pensinsula.
